Vessel.exe: F-Topology is a speculative short animation and installation exploring the female body through the lens of a futuristic cyborg manufacturing system. Set within a dystopian yet poetic future, the work examines the production of idealised hybrid vessels engineered to embody perfection, beauty, and efficiency. The project critiques systems of bodily control, aesthetic standardisation, and the rejection of bodies based on social perceptions.
The film unfolds across three parts:The Gallery, The Factory, and The Garden of Becoming. The first chapter introduces a gallery space where approved cyborgs are displayed as models within curated containment structures. The second chapter moves into the manufacturing chamber, where fragmented cyborg body parts are fabricated, assessed, and assembled through mechanical systems, while rejected components are discarded into a void beneath the facility. The final chapter transitions into a dreamlike garden, where abandoned cyborg fragments inhabit a mythical landscape in which rejected hybrid forms are reclaimed and celebrated.
The project includes a 6-minute animation projected on a large screen, accompanied by sculptural installations composed of a metal frame structure, 3D-printed models, and several 7-inch monitors displaying looping animation excerpts and cut scenes from the main film.
The work creates a speculative imagination that blurs the boundaries between body and machine, exploring how the female body is shaped, judged, and valued through social expectations. Rather than equating beauty with perfection, it embraces imperfection, mutation, and diversity, envisioning a world in which everybody, in all its unique forms, is equally beautiful, celebrated, and worthy of recognition.
